BSC to showcase multiple artists from Frogman’s print workshops

For Immediate Release
Aug. 31, 2018

The Durbin Gallery at Birmingham-Southern College will feature a collection of contemporary prints this September from the Frogman’s 2018 Portfolio.

The “Imprint” exhibition will highlight woodcuts, etchings, lithographs, screen prints, and mixed print media from 25 artists from around the country. It opens Friday, Sept. 7, with a special reception from 6-8 p.m. in the gallery.
The work exhibited includes nationally and internationally recognized professional artists, some of whom are also print educators. All of them have participated in Frogman’s print workshops as undergraduate students, graduate students, assistants, faculty, and/or visiting artists.

For nearly four decades, Frogman’s, one of the most highly regarded and influential printmaking workshops in the world, has tirelessly promoted contemporary and experimental printmaking, inspired countless students, and fostered an impassioned print community. In celebration of its 37th anniversary, Frogman’s presents this portfolio featuring 2018 faculty and other invited participants.

The exhibition will run from Sept. 7-27. It is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
